Taking composition 1 classes is helpful in learning how to steer to college level writing expectations. Learning in this class has enabled me to work in a team and I advice the instructors to make the classes exciting and interesting. Composition 1 class is helpful in writing coherent papers and improving students cooperation and the instructors have a chance to make the classes exciting.Advantages of composition 1 classTaking composition 1 class was helpful in writing successful papers. The class helped me to translate the spoken English into writing. Havin g written several compositions in class and getting instructions from the teacher, I was able to help my brother write a good job application letter. It sharpened my writing skills such that I can write more pages in a short time. I can now organize my ideas in and write an essay with coherent sentence flow. Secondly, I learnt how to write proper grammar and structure my sentences. For example, I learnt that the first sentence in a paragraph should have the theme of what the rest of the sentences will be discussing. Again, long sentences are not always good. Instead, short but clear sentences are more preferred because they are easily understood. Thirdly, I learned to think and express the ideas in a clear and systematic way. Am now able to write a convincing paper that offer supportive arguments enough to respond to potential opposition. In addition, I now know how to write a paper that requires research materials from library or website sources. I discovered that there is more res earch material than I thought existed. I can now deliver a concept by a particular author and give him/her credit by referencing the materials. I can represent the idea in my own way without loosing the initial agenda or copy a sentence in my paper and put quotation marks to show that it is a borrowed sentence to avoid plagiarism. Benefits from classmatesWorking with my classmates has been one of my fascinating moments. Learning becomes easy especially that we are at the same age category. We can share experiences, ideas, and opinion which most of the time do not differ so much. As a result, we can arrive at one answer. My classmates are very cooperative especially when the teacher requires us to take a task together. Every individual gives his or her contribution making the discussion group so lively. Through interacting with them, I have benefited in developing my self-esteem and ability to speak in public.
